long live the king...

I'm thinking a lot about anish kapoor, or rather, the work of anish kapoor. He's a bit too old for me you see... His work is a lot about experience, the experience between the viewer and the work, and this is something I am hoping to look into a lot more throughout my research.

The first artist who came to mind was Siobhan Hapaska who spoke at a Friday Event last year. Even though she wasn't so keen on her earlier sculptures, because she felt all they spoke about was form, material, surface, I couldn't help but love these. I love their pearlescent quality, and have made me think of using the beautiful finish of such a small, delicate object but on a really large scale, so as to become something quite un-natural, and intriguing..
